Terms
The plain terms
The rules for using Rowsmith, in ordinary words. Last changed October 24, 2026.
What Rowsmith does
Rowsmith works out knitting and crochet arithmetic (even spacing, gauge, yarn amounts), shows needle, hook and yarn weight sizes from the Craft Yarn Council’s standards, and keeps projects and counters in a private Workbasket. It does not sell yarn or patterns and is not a pattern designer.
Check before you cut
Results are only as good as the numbers you type: swatch, wash and measure before you trust a gauge, and count a few stitches by hand against the written row. Where your pattern gives its own instructions, follow the pattern. WeldonPC is not responsible for yarn, time or a project lost to a wrong number.
Your Workbasket
- Keep your basket’s private link to yourself; anyone with it can change or delete the basket.
- Use the Workbasket for your making. Do not use it to store other people’s personal information, or for anything unlawful or abusive.
- You can delete a basket at any time; backup copies that still hold it are deleted within about four weeks (see privacy). A basket nobody opens for 365 days is deleted.
- To keep the site working for everyone, new baskets per day and changes per hour are limited. A basket used against these terms may be removed.
Prices and the preview
Every tool is free. A free Workbasket holds 1 project. The Rowsmith Pass is $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year per Workbasket. During the preview there is no checkout and nothing is charged: every basket has the Pass free. When payments open, the Pass renews until you cancel; canceling keeps it until the end of the time already paid for. Prices will not change for a paid period that has already started.
No guarantee
Rowsmith is provided as it is. WeldonPC works to keep it running and correct, but cannot promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes.
Who runs it
Rowsmith is run by WeldonPC.com and published at gallivantus.com.
